Most of the books and other materials held by Library Services are available on open access in one of our ten library sites.
Older and less frequently used material is housed in the Store.
The Library Catalogue: This is the main catalogue in which most of our holdings, in whatever format, are listed. You can search by Author, Title and Keyword, as well as restrict your search to specific formats e.g. periodicals, theses, or to specific site libraries.
The Card Catalogue Online: This lists publications which we acquired before 1972 and which have not yet been catalogued online. If you are looking for an item published before 1972, and you do not find it on the Library Catalogue, check here too.
The Archive Catalogue: This lists the archives and manuscripts held by Special Collections at the University of Birmingham.
Special Collections
Special Collections contain some 80,000 of our older and more valuable books, as well as a number of important manuscript and archive collections.
