READING LISTS

How to submit a reading list:

  • E-mail: coursesupport@bham.ac.uk; or use the reading-list-form
  • Print: to Course Support Team, Main library; or fax to 0121 414 5832
  • Please attach the Course Cover Sheet (pdf)
  • If you submitted a list last year, we will send you an electronic copy.  If you do not receive this, please contact coursesupport@bham.ac.uk 
  • If there are no, or few, changes, either:
    • Send us the updated list (some changes)
    • Or re-submit the existing list (no changes)
  • Please state if you want changes made or not

1. Deadlines for Submission

  • 1st August for first Semester
  • 1st December for second Semester

NB: if we receive first Semester lists by the 1st July, we aim to order and make required material available by the start of the Autumn Term.

A reminder:

2. Required information

Please indicate whether books are:

  • recommended for purchase
  • essential
  • supplementary reading

Also:

  • how many copies you would like
  • loan categories
  • how many students are taking that course or module

Short Loan:

  • One short loan copy per 25 students
  • Short loan periods may vary in different libraries
  • Some do not have short loan collections

Please give full  details including:

  • Author & title
  • ISBN
  • Publisher, & Year of publication (for specific editions)

  • Once your list has been received and processed, it can be viewed online
  • Go to: 'Reading lists' on the Catalogue home page - or  direct
  • Search using module/course title or lecturer's name
  • Follow links from list items  to the library catalogue
